12 Weeks

Finally had another OB appointment. I was supposed to have one at 10 weeks but Dr. Chou had a family emergency and couldn't see me for 2 weeks! That was a long 2 week wait. Actually it wasn't, this pregnancy is going by way too fast.

This baby is very active. He/She was moving all around! Oliver hardly ever moved unless we jiggled him. Baby is measuring ahead too. Measurement of CRL is 12 weeks 6 days and I'm only 12 weeks 1 day. Heart rate was 160. I really hope the old wives tale of faster heart rate means a girl. Oliver's heart rate was 140 at this stage.

Since baby is measuring ahead I have to hurry up and get the NT scan done to complete the first trimester screening. The nurse took my blood so at least we can get that going. Apparently the blood is 85% accurate for screening down syndrome, trisomies, and neural tube defects. I have an appointment in 1 week for the NT scan. That will make me 13 weeks 2 days according to my dates, but it will make me 14 weeks according to my measurements. The cut-off is 14 weeks. I'll be getting it just in time.

I have another appointment with Dr. Chou in 5 weeks to find out the sex!
